About Crabtree Wellbeing

About Emma's counselling services

We all struggle in life at different times; however, sometimes situations can feel overwhelming and we might need to talk things through with someone who really hears us without judgment.

I offer a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space where we can explore whatever issue is troubling you or causing you distress or confusion.

I believe in a warm, collaborative approach where we work together in partnership to make sense of what is happening, supporting you to have a greater understanding of your circumstances or to find the solutions to move forward in your life.

My availability and fees are as follows:

50 minute counselling session: £50
Availability: Mondays and Fridays either face to face (in Woodbridge, Suffolk), Zoom or telephone.

To book an appointment, please e-mail emmac_counselling@btinternet.com or call 07874 001995 or complete the referral form on our contact page.

Meet Emma Crabtree

Integrative Counsellor

I am a qualified BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) registered counsellor and member of the British Psychological Society (GMBPsS).

Finding the right counsellor can feel overwhelming, so I offer a free 20 minute initial consultation by phone to discuss your therapy needs and to establish whether I am the right counsellor for you.

Following this, if you would like to proceed with me, we can book a 50 minute counselling session either on Zoom, telephone or face to face. My working days are Mondays and Fridays.

More about Michael's private surgery treatments

I am a Consultant Surgeon at Ipswich Hospital (since 2008) and qualified as a doctor in 1995. My area of practice is General surgery with an interest in Colorectal and Laparoscopic surgery (key-hole surgery).

I can offer a wide range of surgical therapies for conditions including: groin hernia, abdominal pain, rectal bleeding, bowel cancer and abdominal wall hernia; I also spend a significant proportion of my time investigating symptoms like abdominal pain, constipation, change in bowel habit and rectal bleeding. I use procedures like colonoscopy or gastroscopy to facilitate this.

If you would like to arrange a consultation with me, please contact my secretary Nicki Taylor at the Nuffield Hospital, Ipswich on 01473 279100 where I do most of my private practice.

I am covered by most major insurers on a fee-assured basis. I also accept self-funding patients and participate in the Nuffield hospital price promise scheme with fixed-price fee packages.

Meet Mr. Michael Crabtree

General, Colorectal and Laproscopic Surgeon

I qualified from King’s College School of Medicine (London) in 1995 and went on to train in surgery in the London areas. I finished my Surgical training at St Mark’s hospital in Harrow, the National Centre for Colorectal disease. I also completed a PhD in the genetics of Familial Adenomatosis Polyposis (FAP) jointly at St Mark’s and with Cancer Research UK, at Lincoln’s Inn Fields, London. I therefore have a strong background in both science and surgery.

At Ipswich hospital I have a number of senior roles and leadership is a significant part of my practice. These roles have included: Clinical Lead, Colorectal Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) lead, Surgical Tutor and Health Education East of England (HEEoE) Performance Support Well-being Case Manager. My present Leadership roles include: Foundation Years Training Programme Director (TPD), General Medical Council (GMC) performance assessor Team Leader, and Appraiser and Educational Supervisor. The GMC recognises me as a dedicated trainer, for future doctors. I am trusted to teach the next generation of surgeons and therefore practice using the latest techniques following national guidelines in a professional manner.
